about

Singer and keyboardist Rachel Eckroth offers the first glimpse of her new direction towards experimental indie rock with “Stranger,” off of her highly-anticipated new album due later this year. Eckroth’s atmospheric vocals hover over dismantling industrial soundscapes provided by bassist Tim Lefebvre, whose effects-laden playing can also be heard on David Bowie’s Grammy award-winning album Blackstar. The result is a track whose ever-changing textures explore the realms of musical space while being carefully guided by Eckroth’s expressive melodies and adventurous compositional craft.
